Katherine Bachmann, una joven compositora docta, crea un concierto para orquesta inspirado en el más grande sismo de nuestra historia: el terremoto de Valdivia de 1960. Como un hito aún invisibilizado en la ciudad, rescatará el testimonio de la última generación de sobrevivientes y adaptará sismogramas en notas para vientos, percusiones y cuerdas, retribuyendo a la comunidad en donde creció un recuerdo colectivo en forma de música. Conforme al proceso, la obra es estrenada en el histórico Teatro Cervantes, interpretada por la Orquesta Filarmónica de los Ríos.

Katherine Bachmann, a Chilean young classical composer, sets out to create an orchestral work inspired by the largest earthquake ever measured: the 1960 Valdivia earthquake. As a landmark still overlooked in the city’s memory, she gathers testimonies from the last generation of survivors and transforms seismographic records into notation for winds, percussion, and strings, giving back to the community where she grew up a shared remembrance in the form of music. As the creative process unfolds, the work premieres at the historic Cervantes Theatre, performed by the Los Ríos Philharmonic Orchestra.
